The Holy Order of Knight Templar Priests was not established in France before 1999.

Until then, French Knights Templar wishing to join the HRAKTP sought admission into the Order in England or the USA as no Tabernacles existed on French soil.

As a result of preparations dating back to 1993, the "Sainte Geneviève" Tabernacle was consecrated in London in 1998, although originally intended to work in Paris, in the French language. For miscellaneous reasons, the original scheme could not be brought to fruition, to the total dismay of the first Petitioners who decided to take other steps to succeed in their project.

A formal request from several French Knight Templar Priests, was therefore submitted to M.Em.Kt.P. William H. THORNLEY Jr., K.G.C. , Most Eminent Grand Preceptor of the Grand College of America, Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priests who, in March 1999, commissioned R.Em.Kt.P. Thurman C. PACE Jr., K.G.C,Grand Recorder, and R.Em.Kt.P. Herbert A. FISHER, K.G.C. , Grand Prelate, to constitute in his name the following Tabernacles:

• Saint-Louis A
• Saint-Sernin B
• Saint-Thomas of Aquinus C

warranted in Grand Ingathering at Washington D.C. on 19 th February 1999 and then immediately form them into a Sovereign Grand College for France, presenting them with the previously prepared Warrant for their Grand Constitution dated 4 th March 1999 ( Year 313 of the re-establishment of the Order ).

This was ceremoniously performed on Friday, 5 th March 1999, immediately followed by the Installation of the Most Eminent Grand Preceptor for France, who appointed and invested forthwith the first Officers of Grand College.

The Grand College for France of Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priests orOrder of Holy Wisdom , is one of the Orders referred to at Art. 2 of the Articles of Association of the Body Corporate known as the Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons of France, incorporated on 24 th January 1997 under No. 3/26513, in conformity with the Law of the 1 st July 1901, regulating Non-Profit Corporations and Societies.
